Ingredients

Brown Sugar Syrup:

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar dark or light
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract optional
  • Pinch of Kosher Salt

Oat Milk Latte

  • 1 Double Shot Espresso
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar Syrup or to preference
  • ½ cup Oat Milk
  • Ice Cubes

Instructions

  • Add the brown sugar, water, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt to a pan and whisk to combine.
  • Bring to a slight boil and then immediately reduce to a simmer over medium heat. Whisk occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves, approximately 5 minutes. Allow to cool.
  • Add brown sugar syrup to the bottom of a drinking glass and fill with ice cubes.
  • Pour in the oat milk. If making a hot latte, steam the milk and omit the ice.
  • Brew a double shot of espresso and pour in the glass. Stir and taste to adjust sweetness. Enjoy!

Notes

This recipe makes enough brown sugar syrup for 12-24 servings depending on how much syrup you add to your coffee. It will last for up to 2 weeks.
Allow the syrup to cool completely at room temperature before using it for iced drinks. It can be immediately added to a hot drink but allowing it to cool before adding it over ice will prevent it from crystallizing.
