This Brown Sugar Oat Milk Latte is a sweet way to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon pick-me-up! Made with creamy oat milk and a homemade brown sugar simple syrup, it’s easy to make at home and perfect hot and iced!
Add the brown sugar, water, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt to a pan and whisk to combine.
Bring to a slight boil and then immediately reduce to a simmer over medium heat. Whisk occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves, approximately 5 minutes. Allow to cool.
Add brown sugar syrup to the bottom of a drinking glass and fill with ice cubes.
Pour in the oat milk. If making a hot latte, steam the milk and omit the ice.
Brew a double shot of espresso and pour in the glass. Stir and taste to adjust sweetness. Enjoy!
Notes
This recipe makes enough brown sugar syrup for 12-24 servings depending on how much syrup you add to your coffee. It will last for up to 2 weeks. Allow the syrup to cool completely at room temperature before using it for iced drinks. It can be immediately added to a hot drink but allowing it to cool before adding it over ice will prevent it from crystallizing.
