Ingredients

  • 1 cup Nutritional Yeast
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Basil
  • ½ teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • ½ teaspoon Rubbed Sage
  • 2 teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric

Instructions

  • Combine the nutritional yeast and seasonings into a bowl and whisk together until evenly incorporated.
  • Add seasoning blend into a food processor and pulse into a fine powder. This is optional but recommended.
  • Once combined, you can use it as a seasoning blend and sprinkle it onto food for added flavor or use in a breading for tofu, tempeh, or vegan chicken.
  • Make broth by dissolving 1 tablespoon of the seasoning blend into 1 cup of hot water. Whisk well to dissolve.

Notes

Important Note about Salt: Not all salts are made equal and cannot be substituted 1:1. If you are substituting table salt for kosher salt, you will need to cut the amount called for in the recipe by at least half.

This recipe makes roughly 1 ½ cups, before being pulsed.

Transfer to an airtight jar and store for up to 6 months.
