While I personally experience numerous benefits from ginger shots, especially when I'm not feeling my best, it's crucial to note that I'm not a medical professional.
Therefore, I strongly advise consulting with a healthcare professional if you have any questions or concerns before incorporating ginger shots into your diet.

Ingredients
These ginger shots are super easy to whip up and way more affordable than the store-bought ones.
No juicer required— just a blender and 6 essential ingredients (not including a pinch of salt and water!)
Just blend the ingredients, then strain—it's that easy!
Ginger: Fresh ginger root will give the ginger shots a spicy flavor. I don't recommend ground ginger. 3 ounces is just a guide, go wild and add more if you want it spicier!
Pineapple: This helps balance out the strong, spicy kick of the ginger with its natural sweetness, making the shot more palatable.
Lemon: Peel the lemon before adding it to the blender. You can skip this step but the peel makes the shot bitter.
Turmeric & Black Pepper: You can use fresh turmeric root, but ground turmeric works just as well. Be sure to add black pepper—it helps your body absorb the benefits more effectively.
Cayenne: For heat. Add as much as you desire.
Mineral Salt: I use Redmond Real Sea Salt.

Helpful Equipment
You don't need an elaborate juicer to make your own wellness shots.
A simple blender and a tool to strain out the bits will do the trick.
I use a nut milk bag but a fine mesh strainer works just as well!
If you do want to use a juicer, I have this small juicer that doesn't take up much space and is affordable.
How to Make This Recipe
Start your day with a burst of energy with these pineapple lemon ginger wellness shots.
They offer a simple and homemade pick-me-up using basic ingredients and a blender— no juicer required!
The full written recipe can be found in the recipe card below.
Step 1: Combine the lemons, pineapple, and ginger into a blender. I suggest peeling most of the lemon, but I like to leave the ginger skin on.
Step 2: Then, add in the turmeric, cayenne pepper, black pepper, mineral salt, and water in a blender.
Step 3: Blend until relatively smooth, but expect some texture to remain.
Step 4: Pour it through a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag into a measuring cup or bowl.
Step 5: Use a spoon or gently squeeze the nut milk bag to extract as much juice as possible, then discard the pulp.
Step 6: Store the remaining wellness shots in an airtight jar for up to 3-4 days. Each shot should be 2 ounces.
Note: Ginger shots offer many benefits and always give me a boost of energy in the morning. That said, I'm not a doctor, so be sure to consult a medical professional if you have any questions or concerns.
Substitutions & Variations
Change it up and use what you hand on hand.
Green apple, spinach, celery, and cucumber are all good options!
You can add herbs as well including parsley or mint.

Tips & Tricks
Don't forget a pinch of black pepper to enhance turmeric absorption.
Turmeric stains! To avoid staining your hands, fingers, and nails, I recommend wearing gloves. If don't have any gloves, immediately scrub your hands with a mix of baking soda and lemon then massaged olive oil into my skin before washing again. Hope that helps!
Strain well! For the best results, use a nut milk bag and squeeze to get every last drop of juice!
Use fresh ingredients when possible. Use fresh lemons and ginger for the best flavor and health benefits. Turmeric root is a little harder to find so I use ground turmeric instead!
Chill before serving. Refrigerate the shots for a while before serving. This makes it a little more palatable.
Storage
Storage: Keep leftover shots in an airtight jar for up to 3-4 days. A standard serving is 2 ounces— shake before serving!
Freezing: Pour the juice into ice cube trays and freeze until solid. Then transfer the cubes to a ziplock bag and store them in the freezer for up to 1 month.
To use, thaw the cubes overnight in the fridge for a quick shot, or drop a frozen cube into hot water for an immunity-boosting tea!
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can make a larger batch and refrigerate, but try to consume within 3 to 4 days. 5 days being the max. Anything past 5 days, I would consider freezing.
Pineapple adds natural sweetness to help make these shots more palatable so you shouldn't need sugar. If you do, try a splash of maple syrup.
First thing in the morning!
